grunwaldThese grounds held in A.D. 1410 the greatest battle of medieval Europe. About 21 thousands of the Teutonic Knights faced joint forces of Poland, Russia, Lithuania and Czech numbering 29 thousands in cavalry and infantry. Today, this is but a windy, green plain in the heart of Poland's kingdom of the lakes - Masuria. What remains of the past events are two monuments erected to commemorate East Europeans' greatest victory in the Medieval Times.
