The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is situated in the south-east part of Poland and covers about 3,4% of the area of the country. It's a moderately mountainous region with picturesque rural areas. It's also home to the Świętokrzyski National Park in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains (with highest peak being Łysica - 612 m). It takes 3 lands: Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Ponidzie and Sandomierska Upland. The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are one of the oldest in Europe, and have vast fields of rock scree, which are the most imposing curiosites in Poland. To tourist the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is primarily the scenic Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross) Mountains, the rich woodland of Puszcza Jodłowa (Primeval Fir Tree Forest), the charming landscapes of Ponidzie, the historic sights of Sandomierz, clear waters, unique caves and rock formations. We have also over 1,300 km of hiking routes and ca. 1,500 km of bike routes. Numerous lakes on the clean rivers make it possible to practice sailing, water-skiing and windsurfing. Świętokrzyskie is also a skier’s paradise, suitable for beginners and experts alike. Kielce’s closest surroundings, and the town itself, boast 6 skiing trails equipped with T-bar lifts. The length of skiing trails ranges from 300 to 800 m.
