Lesser Poland (Małopolskie) Voivodship

Lesser Poland is a very interesting region of Poland because of its historical and ethnographic background. It is located in the south-eastern part of Poland. It lies in the upper confluence of the Vistula river and covers a large upland, including most of the Polish Carpathians, the Sandomierz Basin, the Oświęcim Basin and the Lesser Polish Uplands which include the Cracow and Częstochowa Jura.

Lesser Poland has more tourist attractions than any other place in Poland - historical monuments, religious shrines, resorts and beauty spots. One of the most visited destinations in Lesser Poland is Cracow (Kraków), cultural capital of Poland.

Economicalyy the territory of Lesser Poland is very miscellaneous as the industry includes nearly all fields. Kraków is the main industrial and business centre in this part of Poland.
