Those two guys are Tomasz Raczek and Marcin Szczygielski, polish celebrities who recently received a special award for being "the most beautiful couple of the year" at the "Rose Gala" festival (Gala's the name of a celebrity magazine). The event aired on Polish public TV channel, TVP 2. This triggered apparent displeasure with TVP 's vice president Sławomir Siwek, who lately requested TVP 2 to account for the broadcast. Siwek summed it up as "being outside definition of public mission". Raczek and Szczygielski are gay.

Accordingly, debate ensued with the topic being : whether TVP management was properly informed about Gala's programme by its organisers in the first place.

"Nasz Dziennik", an ultra-rightist newspaper, in an interview with Siwek claimed, that they didn't.

Nobody knew that a gay couple is going to get the award

Magda Bulera, Gala's spokesperson contradicts the above, stating that TVP actually received all requested information on the festivity along with its detailed timeline. Supposedly,

the TVP had no problems whatsoever with festival's schedule

Later today, TVP2 channel's director had to account for the foul behaviour before Polish public TV's presidium.

It's very interesting, that Mr Siwek suddenly got interested in public television's so called "mission". Before, nothing similar was even mentioned by him, while less than intelligent programmes were aired in great numbers on both TVP1 and TVP2 (e.g. Ice-dancing Celebrities). Morevoer, next year's channelling is going to be almost entirely focused on such "entertaining" stuff.

TVP and TVP2 both being Poland's foremost public channels have been seen as "rightist" and "conservative" since previous right-wing government started to take full control of them. Complaints flooded in stating, that the government actually used TV as it's political broadcasting tube. In autumn 2007, new government reached for power, but media-liberation process has been very slow with TVP old board members remaining in their chairs.

The couple admitted publicly they're gay a year ago.

A 43-year-old Japanese woman, angry over a sudden divorce in the virtual online game Maple Story, has been arrested on suspicion of hacking into the game where she killed her once-virtual husband, authorities said.

Authorities said the Miyazaki woman illegally accessed the game with a password she hijacked from a colleague. That made it appear as if her coworker committed the online murder.

According to The Associated Press, the woman told police: "I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry."
The hacking allegation carries a maximum five-year prison term.
