| |  On 23 October, the local court in Bydgoszcz sentenced Armenian, the 26 year old Tigran T. to two years in prison for trafficking pirated computer software. This is the first time in Poland's history that such severe verdict is reached for computer software related piracy.

| | According to recent reports by OECD, Poland has one of the largest gaps in Europe when it comes to rich and poor income. The report covered 30 OECD participant countries. Calculation was made basing on the 10% of the whole nation comparing lowest income to the highest. Poland, with an outcome of 13,5:1 has the largest gap in all modern OECD countries.

Poland will present a new bill this month aimed at saving its three shipyards from bankruptcy in line with European Union guidelines, a deputy treasury minister said on Tuesday. Warsaw has been at loggerheads with Brussels over state aid to shipyards in Gdansk, birthplace of the Solidarity movement, Gdynia and Szczecin since it entered the EU in 2004.
